Swarbrick (Green) won by 3,896 votes (11 points) over National in 2023. Boundaries add Grey Lynn and Westmere. A leaked Curia poll for the Taxpayers' Union (22–29 Jul) asked which party gets the candidate vote: National (Kinser) 30, Green (Swarbrick) 25, Labour (Chen) 24. ACT's candidate is urging her voters to back Kinser.

Why Auckland Central matters
Electorate seats decide who sits in Parliament, but the party vote decides how many seats each party gets. An electorate can still change the result: it can bring in a party that's under 5%, or add overhang seats that raise the number needed to govern. The seat forecast shows how often that happens.
